About the SNC
The Scandinavian Neurotrauma Committee (SNC) was founded in 1998 on the initiative of the Scandinavian Neurosurgical Society. The committee consists of specialists with significant clinical and research experience in neurotrauma. This includes neurosurgeons, neurointensivists and anesthesiologists, as well as other specialists, from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.
The SNC is financially independent and aims to provide unfettered and evidence based guidance on the many facets of neurotrauma management, from prehospital care to surgical- and intensive care management, as well as rehabilitation.
Several guidelines for the management of traumatic brain injury, as well as textbooks on neurotrauma care, have been published by the committee over the years.
The SNC also host the Nordic Neurotrauma Conference, which gathers an international crowd from various key areas within the world of neurotrauma. The latest conference was held in Lund, Sweden in the autumn of 2023.
